Karl Bavolak started Bavolak Electric in 1971
and it grew quickly from repeat business and referrals. Karl’
philosophy was to take the time to help the customer refine their
needs, provide choices so the customer could decide what would
give them the best value for their budget; and required that “all
employees cheerfully, safely and legally provide installations
with the highest possible level of value.”
Karl’s unique
balance of people and technical skills were refined at the U of M
where he majored in psychology with a focus in engineering. He
was part of a design team at Northern Pump building gliders for
the military in WWII. As a survivor of tuberculosis with only one
lung left –he placed a high value on relationships with family,
			   friends and business associates.
After graduating from
Hamline College with a degree in physics George joined his father
in business, bringing to the company his technical and design
skills, complementing his Dad; although they didn’t always see
			   eye to eye.
